n-compass delivers a range of health and well-being services that support individuals to improve and maintain their health and wellbeing by offering information, guidance and practical 1-1 support.
The Health Triangle, first introduced by the World Health Organisation, represents three aspects of living that contribute to optimal health and well-being.
The three areas involve:-
physical health – maintaining a healthy lifestyle
socio- economic health – having social connections, relationships, access to services including transport, access to sufficient income etc
mental well-being – an individual’s cognitive or emotional health
Each aspect makes up a side of the triangle and it is important to achieve a balance between the three areas in order to achieve and maintain good health & well-being. If equilibrium is not achieved and one side is off balance, the other two areas will inevitably suffer. For example, if an individual experiences poor income, this can restrict their ability to make healthy lifestyle choices such as achieving a balanced diet. In turn, this can affect ones self-esteem and confidence and potentially lead to poor mental health, which can often result in social isolation.
