Born and educated in North-West London, Brian is a widower with two grown up children and has lived in Lytham St.Annes since 1986. He has had many jobs including being self-employed, worked for the DWP for many years in London and Leicester assessing benefit claims, and from 1980 until his retirement in 2013 was a senior IT Consultant and Project Manager. For the last 12 years, Brian worked for IBM advising major clients in the UK and across Europe.
Since retirement, Brian has done voluntary work for the Blackpool Food Partnership – a local charity that coordinates collection of food donations and distribution to local hostels and individuals in food poverty. He is a Governor of Clifton Primary School in St. Annes. Brian's interests include genealogy, walking his dogs, gardening, caravanning, photography and travelling. He also runs websites dedicated to the history of the Merchant Navy and for two charities.
